Dr Fenglian Xu

Dr Fenglian Xu, a chief scientist in Elemental Concept, has over 20 years extensive
experience as a data scientist with a leading technology company with exposure to
multiple industries. She is an award-winning innovator and inventor producing over
30 patented solutions in her career. As a thought leader in the IT industry, she has
built many great products, services, initiatives, and open source projects.
After graduating with a Mathematic Degree from Xi’An Jiao Tong University in China,
she did a PhD in medical image processing from the University of Southampton.
During her career at IBM, in addition to inventing patents, Fenglian wrote an IBM
redbook about practical guidance for reference data management and is a featured
author for the IBM developerWork. She has published over 25 scientific articles in
medical image processing, Grid computing, WebSphere MQ messaging, Service
Oriented Architecture, Business Analytics and Blockchain technology.
The culmination of the above led her to be a TechWomen 50 Winner in 2017.
Using Blockchain and AI technology, she hopes to transform industries such as the
healthcare sector by building trusted platforms for better problem diagnose.
